RAB raids 3 hospitals, seals off two

Six persons including three hospital owners were sentenced to different terms by a mobile court in the capital’s Mohammadpur and Shyamoli areas on Wednesday night.
The mobile court jointly led by Rapid Action Battalion-2 and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) raided three hospitals namely Makka-Madina General Hospital, Nurjahan General Hospital and Crescent Hospital Ltd.
RAB after that sealed off Makka-Madina Hospital and Nurjahan Hospital.
Six persons were sentenced on account of irregularities found in the three hospitals, said Palash Kumar Bosu, Executive Magistrate of RAB.
Among those sentenced are Md Nurnabi, owner of Makka-Madina General Hospital, Md Babul Hossain, owner of Nurjahan General Hospital and Md Abul Hossain, owner of Crescent Hospital Ltd.
The three others were @ fake doctor and two OT (operation Theatre) staffers of the hospitals.
They deceived patients by taking them to the three hospitals from National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), the RAB official said.
