43 rivers marked rise, 35 fall

Water levels in 43 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 35 stations recorded fall.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at six river stations are flowing above respective danger levels and water levels at three monitored river stations have remained steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Thursday.
The Karota at Chakrahimpur, the Gur at Singra, the Jamuna at Naogaon, the Surma at Kanaighat, the Surma at Sunamganj and the Kansha at Jariajanjail are flowing above their respective dangers levels by 7 cm, 68 cm, 41 cm, 5 cm, 30 cm and 175 cm.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Thursday.
A total of 61.2 mm rainfall was recorded at Narsingdi, 54 mm at Sunamganj, 50 mm at Lorergrah and 43 mm at Dhaka.
