Ctg has no room for terrorists: CMP commissioner

The newly appointed CMP Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol yesterday asked terrorists and criminals to return to normal life or face action.
“Chittagong, commercial hub and second capital city of the country, has no room for arms smugglers, terrorists, muggers, drug peddlers and extortionists and the police will do everything possible for the sake of security of the city dwellers,” the commissioner said.
The commissioner was exchanging views with journalists at CMP conference room after assuming his new assignment.
About programs of political parties, the CMP commissioner said the people have the right to demonstrate and protest through various programs in any democratic country, but no destructive and anti-people activities will be tolerated.
He said the CMP will take multi-prong measures to ensure security during the upcoming Durga Puia and Eid-Ul-Azha festivities. Additional commissioners of CMP Banoz Kumar Mozumdar and AKM Shahiduzzaman and other high officials of the CMP attended the press conference.
