SC allows ACC leave-to-appeal

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted permission to Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to file an appeal with the Appellate Division against the High Court order releasing former State Minister for Law and BNP leader Barrister Shahjahan Omar in a graft case.
A 4-member bench, headed by Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain, passed the order.
ACC, on September 27, 2007, filed the case against the BNP leader accusing him of amassing wealth worth Tk 2,06,15,803 beyond known source of income and concealing information about wealth worth Tk 46,18,502.
