Land of minority grabbed by local influential near Barisal Airport

Valuable land properties of minority owners dispossessed at late night allegedly by the cadres of influential land grabbers and panicked local minority community members due to inaction of police at Rahamatpur area under Barisal Airport police station.
After visiting the spot and talking with both sides it was learnt that local influential land grabbers Hossain Hawladar and Ripon Haoladar with a gang of armed people forcibly occupied 22 decimal lands owned by betel leaf planter Shanti Ranjan Mitra on early hours of Sunday and Monday night.
Gopal Mitra, betel leaf planter and nephew of Shanti Mitra, said they possessing total 1.02 acre land by inheritances after government allotted them the property many years ago as landless betel leaf planting families near the of Rahamatpur Khal of Rahamatpur Bandar under the then Babuganj and present Barisal Barisal Airport police stations.
Land grabbers led Hosen Haoladar and Ripon Haoladar tried to grab those lands preparing false documents of auction filed a case in 1992. But the court rejecting the plea of the land grabbers gave judgment in favour of us in 2008, Gopal told.
However the grabbers filed an appeal against the verdict of lower court, but court also ordered to maintain statuesque till disposal of the case.
Then the grabbers cordoning a portion of the grabbed land with tin-fence also constructed a shop on portion of that land on early hours of August on 25 and 26, 2014 nights.
When we informed Airport police station about grabbing activities by armed cadres of the grabbers violating statuesque on Monday late night, police assured us about sending the patrol team immediately, but remained indifferent till grabbers completed their criminal offences, Gopal Mitra added.
After grabbers dispossessed minority owners from the land on Monday, police stuck a notice of court order for maintaining statuesque on Thursday. Now on basis of this statuesque the grabbers could easily continue possessions of the property safely, Gopal Mitra alleged.
However Shaheduzzaman, Airport police station officer in charge, denying the allegation said police acted as soon as the order from the court reached to them officially. Now police will take care against any violation of that order.
A team of Bangladesh Hindu-Buddha- Christian Oikya Parishad Barisal unit on Tuesday visiting the spot called interferences of the Prime Minister to ensure safety and security of the minority community and their life and properties, said Advocate Hiran Kumar Das Mithu, district president BHBCOP
Hossain Haoladar, alleged land grabber, claimed deputy commissioner allotted that land to them as river erosion affected landless family.
As we were busy during day-time for earning livelihoods, so my men worked at night on land allotted to ours to prepare that for business, Hossain explained
