Extravaganza of development sighting in Port City : Mayor

General Secretary of Chattogram City Unit of Awami League and City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin mentioned that extravaganza of development is being sighted in the port city .
 He said all ser vice bodies in the p-ort city simultaneously undergoing development activities of thousands crores of taka for which the city dwellers are tolerating the sufferings for a short period.
He disclosed it while addressing the views exchanging meeting with the dwellers of Ward No.37, 38, 39, 40 , 41 at a city community centre on Saturday.
He also reiterated the sufferings of water-logging in the city . He admitted the liability of these sufferings as the development works earlier was not underwent in a coordinated ways.
He said ponds and digis disappeared from the city and most of the inner canals of the city were occupied under illegal possession .
He further hoped that the water-logging sufferings will be eliminated very shortly and the present is very much keen for the development of the port city.
He also mentioned that Bangladesh Army Engineering core has been entrusted with the eviction of unauthorized possession from the canal side and banks of Karnaphuli river.
He also blamed the ICDs (off docks of containers) for traffic congestions on Airport road and if these off -docks are removed from Airport road, congestions will go forever.
City Mayor disclosed that the construction works from Barik Building to Cement crossing has been stopped for the time being till the full completion of outer ring road.Vice President of city AL Khorshed Alam Sujan presided over the meeting.
