Fatherhood, Shahid Kapoor says: Sometimes it’s nice, sometimes frustrating
Shahid Kapoor is one of the finest talents we have in the industry. The actor has proved his worth not just once or twice but several times with jaw-dropping performances, be it Jab We Met, Kaminey, Udta Punjab, Padmaavat or Kabir Singh. The actor has proved that he is a stellar artiste and no one can take that away from him. Shahid has always taken the road less travelled, not just professionally, but also personally. And so, when he decided to get married in an arranged marriage set up, it became the talk of the town. But today, Mira and Shahid is one of the most adored couple of Bollywood and are blessed with two wonderful kids Misha and Zain. In a recent interview with Filmfare, Shahid got candid about how his life has changed post fatherhood.
He said, “I was pretty self-oriented till I became a parent. Though I believed I was selfless. But when I became a parent, I realised I was actually damn selfish. Now I don’t put myself first. You end up thinking about your kids and family first. Sometimes it’s nice. Sometimes it’s frustrating because you do need to put yourself first at times. Every individual needs to have their own breathing space. I struggle with it. I respect my parents a lot more today than I did before I was a parent. Now I understand what all they did for me. I don’t know if it’s too late for me to apologise but through Filmfare I say, ‘Mom and dad, sorry for all those times I was a prick’.” Grab the latest issue of Filmfare to read the full interview.
