Thai citizen sent to jail

A court of Dhaka yesterday (Thursday) sent a Thailand citizen named Kiwatkat Somoiyothok to jail in a case filed on charge of fraudulence.
Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Thursday passed the order after rejecting the bail plea of the accused.
Earlier, the court issued an arrest warrant against the accused on September 5.
Amit Group filed the case against the Thai citizen, who is also the Managing Director of Siam Group, on February 11.
According to the case statement, Kiwatkat signed an agreement to hand over the license of a club to Amit Group and took Tk one crore. But he sold it to another company in 2011, ignoring the agreement.
