Probe body formed for Lalbagh fire

A three-member probe committee was formed on Thursday to find out the reason of the Wednesday’s night blaze at a polythene factory at Posta of Lalbagh in Dhaka city.
The committee has been asked to submit its report within seven working days, said Fire Service’s Warehouse Inspector Atiqul Alam.
Fire Service and Civil Defence’s Deputy Director (Operation) Dilip Ghosh heads the committee. The other members are Assistant Commissioner (Operation) Abdul Halim and Deputy Director (Posta Zone) Newton Das.
The fire broke out in the factory on Water Works Road at Posta just after 10:30pm on Wednesday.
Sixteen firefighting units extinguished the fire in four hours.
The cause of the fire and extent of damage could not be known yet.
