Tyre factory gutted in city

A fire had broken out in an old tyre factory at Nawabpur, Old Dhaka on Thursday.
The incident occurred on the fourth floor of Barikhe Plaza beside the Manchi Cinema Hall yesterday noon.
Finally it was doused after two hours’ frantic efforts by Fire Service five units.
Ershad Sikder, Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence told media that they extinguished the fire around 4:10pm with five firefighting units.
The amount of loss could not be assessed instantly.
Mostafizur Rahman, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Wari Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
