BNP’s demo demanding Khaleda’s release

The BNP on Tuesday brought out a protest demonstration at the capital’s Nayapaltan and Kakrail intersection area demanding its Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s immediate release from jail.
BNP Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi led the protest procession which started from in front of the party’s Nayapaltan office.
The procession reached Kakrail intersection and then ended after a brief gathering in front of the party office.
He labelled the 11th general election as a joke with the voters, democracy and the whole nation.
“Panic has gripped the whole nation. The country is now state of uncertainty as there is no democracy there,” he said.
Rizvi said, “The government has imprisoned the party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in false and fabricated cases. She has been made victims of the government’s political vengeance.”
He demanded Khaleda Zia’s quick release from jail.
Leaders and activists of the BNP, Chhatra Dal, Sechhswasebak Dal, Jubo Dal and other front organizations participated in the demonstration.
