Recreation centers being prepared for Eid visitors

Recreation centers are being prepared to entertain the city-dwellers during the Eid festival.
The National Zoo at Mirpur, Shishu Park at Shahbagh and all other recreation centers are expected to draw huge visitors, particularly children, on the Eid day and afterwards.
Keeping this in mind, the authorities are taking extra preparations ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The recreation centers are repairing rides, coloring walls, cleaning their premises and strengthening security measures to ensure unhindered entertainment for the visitors.
The Shishu Park at Shahbagh will remain open for 12 hours from 9 am on the Eid day. Dhaka South City Corporation official Millatul Islam said adequate preparations have been taken for the Shishu Park.
Decoration of the children’s park has nearly ended, he added. He said the Shishu Park will remain open on the Eid day and the following holidays.
The poor and orphan boys and girls would be allowed to enjoy all rides for free on the Eid day, he added. The National Zoo at Mirpur has also taken extensive preparations on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The zoo authorities think young tigers, peacocks, hippopotamus and giraffe calves would draw special attention of the visitors this year.
The authorities would open five makeshift ticket counters to serve the additional visits during the Eid.
If the weather remains fine, the zoo would witness 70 to 80 thousand visits daily during the Eid holidays, hope the authorities.
Deputy Curator Dr. Maksudul Hassan said security would be strengthened for the visitors.
The zoo will remain open every day during the Eid holidays, he added. The botanical garden beside the zoo is also preparing to entertain additional visitors during the Eid.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Planetarium, Shyamoli Shishu Mela, National Museum, Ahsan Manjil Museum, Lalbagh Fort and Baldha Garden are also taking preparations ahead of the Eid festival.
The South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad, Chandrima Udyan, Suhrawardy Udyan, Gulshan Lake and Dhanmondi lake area would draw huge visitors on Eid holidays.
There will be huge crowd of visitors in recreation centers around the city, including Fantasy Kingdom, Nandan Park, Heritage Park and Water Kingdom.
