BNP urges EC
Allocate ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol to 26 others

BNP on Sunday requested the Election Commission (EC) to allocate its ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol to 26 other contenders for contesting in the December 30 national election.
The party sent a letter on Sunday in this regard.
The contestants are from the major opposition alliance Jatiya Oikyafront and 20-party, according to the letter signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. The list of candidates and their seat are:
Gono Forum: Mostafa Moshin Montu, Dhaka-7; Subrata Chowdhury, Dhaka-6, AHM Khalekuzzaman, Mymensingh- 8; Dr Reza Kibria, Habigonj-1; Professor Abu Sayed, Pabna-1; Sultan Mohammad Mansur Ahmed, Moulavibazar-2 and Major General (Ret.) AMSA Amin, Kurigram -2.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD): ASM Abdur Rab, Laxmipur-4; General Secretary Abdul Malek Ratan, Cumilla-4; Organizing Secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, Dhaka-18 and Dr Saiful Islam, Kishoreganj-3.
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP): Sayed Mahmud Morshed, Mymensingh-8; Redowan Ahmed, Cumilla-7; Md Sahdat Hossain, Laxmipur-1 and Md Nurul Alam, Chattogram-7.
Jamiut-e-Ulamaya Islam Bangladesh: Monir Hossain Kahemi, Narayangonj-4; Sahinur Pasa Chowdhury, Sunamgonj- 3 and Obidullah Faruk, Sylhet- 5.
