Chattogram Metropolitan Police arrested a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Mojadia Madrasa gate area in the city on charge of plotting subversive acts on Tuesday.
The detainee was identified Bkalia thana Jamaat-e-Islami ward level leader Shafiqul Islam, 50. The Jamaat leader Shafiqul Islam along with some others were holding a secret meeting around 9 am. to commit subversive activities in Rahatarpool area, said Pranab Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Bakalia thana .
