Netherlands delegates call on DU VC

A four-member delegation led by Hannelore Beerlandt, Consultant of Netherlands Development
Corporation, Consultant Ace Europe and Managing Director of International Development Innovation Services (IDIS), on Thursday called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office of the university. Visiting Senior Research Fellow of University of Malaya Prof Dr Zobaida Akhter was present, among others, on this occasion. During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest particularly women equality, women empowerment and women education. The DU VC apprised the delegates about educational, political, social and economic status of women in the country. The delegates praised the progress of women in various issues of development in Bangladesh.
 They laid emphasize on more participation and empowerment of women to accelerate country’s further development.
