DIU holds seminar on quality education in tertiary level

Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a seminar on “Quality Assurance in Tertiary Level Education” on Sunday at 71 Milonayoton of the university. Prof Dr Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, Head, Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), University Grant Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh was present as chief guest in the seminar while Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of DIU was present as special guest. A MM Khairul Bashar, President, BSTQM and Managing Director, Centre for Management Development (CMD) was present as keynote speaker.
Prof Dr AKM Fazlul Haque, Director, IQAC presided over the program. Conducted by Md. Dara Abdus Sattar, Associate Head of the Department, the seminar was also addressed by Prof Dr Md. Shahid Ullah, Head, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of DIU and Dr Sk Abdul Kader Arefin, Additional Director, IQAC of the university.
Addressing as the chief guest Prof Dr Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary said, Expectation from our education system is to develop a total quality person focused with knowledge, wisdom and eloquent.
He said, a teacher exists at the center point of any institution and teachers’ mould to change and students become changed. It requires a close interaction and relationship between teachers and students to ensure quality education, he added. He stressed on the need for quality teachers to build quality human being with positive attitude.
He urged the students to explore their will power hidden themselves to be enlightened with knowledge and skills.
He praised the activities and efforts of IQAC of Daffodil International University as it has been doing international workshops, training faculty members including inductive, digital education, autistic, ILO, student’s love for motherland, research and extension.
Prof Dr Yousuf M. Islam spoke on the importance of Quality Assurance in higher education.
He emphasized that DIU always believes in good quality education and he hoped that through establishment of IQAC, the university will be able to ensure and develop the quality education more. Faculty members of DIU should work together to institutionalize the quality culture in higher education, he added. He expressed his hope that DIU will become number one university in Bangladesh within the shortest period of time through developing quality culture in education and teaching learning process.
