Rakin stars of Sheikh Jamal’s victory

A brilliant batting display by Rakin Ahmed enabled Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to post a 73-run victory over Kalabagan Krira Chakra in the tenth round match of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on Friday.
Put to bat first by Kalabagan, Sheikh Jamal managed to score a competitive total of 263 for all in 49.5 overs at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Raskin top scored with 71 runs and also involved 121-run second wicket stand with Pinak Ghosh (49) to take the team to a comfortable position, after the initial loss.
Later, Tanbir Hayder made an unbeaten quick fire 60-ball off 61-run to guide Sheikh Jamal to post a competitive total.
Abul Hasan was the most successful bowler as he claimed three Sheikh Jamal’s wickets conceding 45 runs.
In reply, Kalabagan found the chase stiff and eventually all out for 190 in 47.3 overs with Muktar Ali and Taibur Rahman both scored equal 51 runs.
Elias Sunny was the pick of Sheikh Jamal’s bowlers as he captured four’s Kalabagan’s wickets conceding 36 runs. He was well supported by Kazi Kamrul Islam who bagged two wickets for 47.
