12 gold bars seized at Shah Amanat Airport

The customs authority recovered ten gold bars weighing 1.120gms worth about fifty lakh taka from Shah Amanat Airport on Wednesday night.
The gold bars were recovered from the luggage of a passenger of Airarabia G-9 flight named Md. Sohel coming from Sharjah on Wednesday night.
Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong Customs Mashiur Rahman Mondal told the New Nation that luggage of that passenger was scanned while coming out from the airport and then the bars were recovered from a packet hidden in a charger fan.
A departmental case has been filed as per customs law, he added.
