Md Asaduzzaman (52), an electrician of Mongla Sea Port met his tragic end when he fell on the ground from a ladder at the time of replacing a new bulb instead of a fused one.
The death of the electrician was confirmed by Commodore Habibur Rahman Bhuiya, Chairman of the port authority. The accident took place in the shed No. 5 of the jetty of the port on Sunday in the after noon.
It is reported that the deceased Asaduzzaman was replacing a fused electric bulb in the shed No.5 with the help of a ladder under the supervision of Shaikh Shah Nawaz, Assistant Engineer of he electricity department of the port. But, some how, he was shocked and while he was getting down from the ladder he slipped and fell on the cemented floor of the shed from 25 feet above and sustained grievous injuries on his head.
He was first admitted to the Port Hospital but considering the precarious condition of Asaduzzaman he was shifting to Khulna Medical College Hospital for better treatment. But unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries on his way to Medical College Hospital.
