Rajpal Yadav in jail not to fulfill conditions

The Delhi High Court has sentenced popular Bollywood comedian Rajpal Yadav to three months in prison for failing to pay his dues to a creditor within the stipulated time as per the court’s order.

Citing court sources, Indian media reported that Delhi High Court Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma upheld Rajpal’s sentence in seven cases related to cheque bounce.

The court said that the actor was given multiple opportunities and time to settle the long-running case, but he could not keep his promise to pay the money.

The verdict ordered Rajpal to pay the outstanding amount and legal costs to the complainant organisation, as well as Rs 5 lakh 51 thousand to his wife Radha Yadav.
