5 matches of National Women’s Handball decided in opener
BSS, Dhaka : Five matches of the EXIM Bank 28th National Women’s Handball competition were decided on the opening day (Tuesday) at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium. In the day’s matches, Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation beat Jalampur district by 28-08 goals after leading the first half by 14-03 goals, Bangladesh Ansar drubbed Meherpur district by 37-0 goals after dominating the first half by 20-0 goals, Bangladesh Police Handball team defeated Faridpur district by 22-09 goals after leading the first half by 15-05 goals, Kishorganj district outclassed Feni district by 16-03 goals after leading the first half by 7-2 goals and Dinajpur district overpowered Narail district by 15-08 goals after leading the first half by 8-4 goals. Earlier, Youth and Sports Secretary Asadul Islam formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest while BHF president Nurul Fazal Bulbul presided over the opening ceremony. Besides, Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) vice-president and tournament committee’s chairman Nurul Islam, BHF general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and tournament committee’s secretary Salahuddin Ahmed were also present on the occasion. A total of 16 district and services teams are taking part in the meet, sponsored by EXIM Bank and organised by BHF. The participating teams are Feni, Kurigram, Naogaon, Narail, Meherpur, Dhaka, Joypurhat, Panchagarh, Jamalpur, Faridpur, Dinajpur, Jessore, Kishorganj, Bangladesh Ansar, Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation.
