UGC chairman off to UK

Prof Dr A K Azad Chowdhury, Chairman of the University Grants’ Commission (UGC), on Sunday left here for United Kingdom (UK) for adopting Quality Assurance Mechanism for higher education in Bangladesh. During his stay there, Prof Chowdhury will visit a number of universities and education institutions, including University of London, Northunbria, Greenwich University, Edinburgh University, Dundee University, St. Andews University and UK Quality Assurance Agency.
He will have several meetings and discussions with concerned persons of those institutions on their degree awarding system and other aspects of ensuring quality education.
He will also look into the quality of the UK universities, awarding degrees in Bangladesh through their study centres. Prof Azad is expected to return to the country on June 21.
