AKS BPL: Massive victory for Comilla Victorians

Comilla Victorians posted a massive eight-wicket victory over Chiitagong Vikings in their match of the AKS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 Cricket at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Tuesday.
Sent into bat first, Chittagong Vikings scored 143 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Comilla Victorians sailed home in 17.2 overs making 144 for the loss of two wickets.
Comilla had firm start as Liton Das and Jos Buttler, the two openers of the victorious team put on together 43 runs before Liton Das was trapped leg before wicket by Subashis Roy.
Then Buttler and Imrul Kayes repaired the damage contributing together 57 runs for the second wicket partnership before Buttler was caught behind by wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi off Subashis Roy when Comilla’s total was 100 for the loss of two wickets.
Buttler cracked a worthy 48. His 42-ball knock was decorated with two sixes and three fours.
After Buttler’s departure, Imrul Kayes and Marlon Samuels added together 44 runs in the unbroken third wicket stand.
Samuels remained unbeaten with 35. His 18-ball windy innings was belted with four fours and a sixer.
Imrul Kayes remained unbeaten with 33, while Liton Das scored 23.
Subashis Roy of Chittagong Vikings got two wickets conceding 24 runs.
Earlier, Chittagong Vikings made a solid start as openers Luke Ronchi and Soumya Sarkar contributed together 63 runs before Ronchi was caught at the cover by Alok Kapali off Mohammad Nabi.
Ronchi top-scored with 40. His 21-ball windy innings was studded with three sixes and four fours.
Then Soumya Sarkar and Dilshan Munaweera built another notable partnership. They put on together 38 runs for the second wicket partnership before Munaweera was caught by Marlon Samuels off Dwayne Bravo when Chittagong’s total was 101 for the loss of two wickets.
After Munaweera’s dismissal, batsmen of Chittagong Vikings failed to make any remarkable partnership.
Soumya Sarkar hit a polished 38 from 33 balls featuring three fours and a sixer.
Sarkar was cleanly bowled out by Mohammad Saifuddin when Chittagong’s score was 106 for the loss of three wickets.
Munaweera scored 21 off 22 balls with one sixes.
Sikandar Raza remained unbeaten with 18. He hit two fours in his 13-ball innings.
Mohammad Saifuddin of Comilla Victorians grabbed three wickets at the cost of 24 runs, while Dwayne Bravo bagged a pair of wickets instead of 29 runs.
Mohammad Nabi and Al-Amin Hossain took one wicket each for 18 and 28 runs respectively.
Mohammad Saifuddin of Comilla Victorians was adjudged the Man of the Match.
