Journo Benazir passes away

Veteran journalist Benazir Ahmed died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment in a city hospital. He was 68.
Benazir, former editor of vernacular Daily Bhorer Kagoj was suffering from various diseases, including heart ailment, said his brother-in-law Sayed Uddin Mahmud.
Benazir’s body has been kept at Birdem Hospital mortuary.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza will be held on Bhorer Kagoj premises at 10:00am and second janaza at the Jatiya Press Club today.
He will be buried at Banani graveyard after Zohr prayers.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of Benazir Ahmed. In a condolence message, the PM said the country’s newspaper industry would recall late Benazir with deep respect as he played a pioneering role in creating a new trend in journalism in the country.
