1500 bags blood collected on National Mourning Day in Raozan

The National Mourning and the martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated with religious fervor .
On this auspicious occasion, blood donation programme was arranged at Upazila premises beside the feedings to 30 thousand people irrespective caste, creed and opinions .
The humanitarian blood donation program was assisted by the Sandani Blood Bank and the doctors of the Chittagong Medical college hospital .
A brief blood donation program and discussion meeting on Father of the Nation was held in the morning yesterday with Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Railway ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP in the chair.
President of North district AL Nurul Alam Chowdury graced the occasion as chief guest while the Upazila Chairman Ehsanul Haider Chowdhury Babul and the superintendent of Police, Chittagong Nure Alam Mina as special guests.
Advocate Rana Dasgupta and Prosecutor of International crimes Tribunal was the inaugurator the blood donation programme.
Among others, Panel Mayor Bashir Khan, second panel mayor Zamiruddin Parvez, UNO Shamim Hossain Reza, AC Land Jonaid Kabir sohag , General Manager of Pally Biddyut samity Abu Bakkar chowdhury , President of Mohila AL, north district Dilara yusuf, vice chairman of Raozan UZ Fouzia Khanam Mina, Saiful Islam chowdhury Rana, Sharju Md. Naser, UP chairman Abdul Jabbar Sohel spoke on the occasion.
Ahsan Habib Chowdhury conducted the blood donation program as chief coordinator.
Chairman of all Ups of Raozan upazila also attended the mourning day and blood donation program . Chief coordinator sources said about 1500 bags of blood were collected which donated voluntarily .
Mentionable that the ruling party lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Railway has undertaken initiatives to collect 1500 bags of blood marking the martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15.
As many as 17 booths have been prepared and special blood bags have been bought for collecting the blood to be donated by the leaders and activists of Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, government and non-government officials and employees, teachers and students of different educational institutions, party sources said.The collected blood would be donated among the patients free of cost.
Mentionable that with the heartfelt initiatives of the local legislator ABM Fazle Karim chowdhury , the national mourning day is being celebrated in Raozan for the last with feeding to destitute for the last few years and this is the first time that he arranged the blood donation programme .
