Love for a departed brother
M Zahidul Haque :
Montu Bhai is no more. He breathed his last at a hospital in Atlanta on 26 July 2017. The news of his sudden demise has deeply saddened us. It is hard to accept that Montu Bhai would never appear before us with his smiling face and cordiality. So, all living things have to taste the cold touch of death, its inexorable!
Montu Bhai whose full name was Shahjahan Chowdhury was my cousin Ruma Apa (Shamim Ara)’s beloved husband and very caring and affectionate elder brother to all our cousins who were junior to him. Montu Bhai was greatly loved and admired by all his family members, friends and relatives.
While in the service of Biman Bangladesh Montu Bhai was very dedicated and honest in discharging his duties. He was very popular among his colleagues for his affability.
Montu Bhai loved to entertain people. He never discriminated between the higher class and less privileged people; he used to treat both the group equally.
A very kind hearted person, Montu Bhai used to help people in distress. He never ignored his responsibilities towards his parents and siblings.
Montu Bhai was committed to his love. Overcoming all obstacles Ruma Apa and Montu Bhai had set a true love story and they had been a happily married couple with great understanding and sympathy to one another.
Shahjahan Chowhury (Montu Bhai) has left behind his beloved mother, wife, one son and two daughters, son-in-laws, to be daughter-in-law and host of friends and relatives to mourn his death.
He was very close to me and I always maintained a special space for him in my heart. In this sad moment I am not getting enough words to compile his memories….I solemnly pray to God to grant eternal peace to his departed soul. n
