Bangladesh Chess team leaves for New Delhi today

Bangladesh Chess team will leave the city today for New Delhi to take part in the
Commonwealth Chess Championship scheduled to be held in New Delhi from July 3 to July 10.
Marking the forthcoming chess competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of National Sports Council on Saturday.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) Syed Shahabuddin Shamim disclosed all the matters about the participating chess team while Vice-President of BCF KM Shahidullah presided over the conference.
A 21-member chess team will take part in the Commonwealth Chess Championship.
Grand Master Ziaur Rahman, Grand Master Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib, Grand Master Enamul Hossain Rajib, Grand Master Niaz Morshed, International Women’s Master Shamima Akter Liza, International Women’s Master Rani Hamid, FIDE Master Taibur Rahman, Women’s FIDE Master Sharmin Sultana Shirin will participate in the Open Division.
Aqib Zawad will compete in Under-20 Open Division, Umme Taslima Prativa Talukder in Under-20 Girls’ Division, Anat Chowdhury in Under-18 Open Division, Naeem Haque in Under-16 Open Division, Kazi Jerin Taslim in Under-16 Girls’ Division, FIDE Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman in Under-14 Open Division, Nowshin Anjum in Under-14 Girls’ Division, Tahsin Tajwar Zia in Under-12 Open Division, Jannatul Ferdous in Under-12 Girls’ Division, Md Sajidul Haque and Syed Ridwan in Under-10 Open Division, Monon Reza Nir in Under-8 Open Division and Hanif Molla in Senior Division (Above 60).
The competitions will be held on nine-round Swiss League System.
National Instructor & Women’s Candidate Master Mahmuda Haque Chowdhury Moli will go with the chess team.
