No second chance for CU admission

The admission seekers, who fails to get admission last year in several universities for honors courses would miss the chance to appear in the admission test of Chittagong University this year as the authority has shut down the second chance for admission.
The decision was approved in the 503th syndicate meeting of CU, held at Vice-Chancellor’s conference room on Tuesday.
CU acting registrar Professor Dr Kamrul Huda confirmed it to this correspondent, saying the academic committee and the syndicate committee has took the decision not to give the chance to the students for second time opportunities.
Side by side, “the viva-voce, especially were conducted for the subject choosing, has been canceled and the subject would be given to the students against their talents. The admission seekers firstly fill up the application form with choosing their subjects frequently”, he added.
Meanwhile, the opening of six new departments under three faculties now under processing and after having consent from UGC the new departments would be installed.
The six departments are Development Studies and Police Science and Criminology under Social Science Faculty, Material Science and Engineering and Information & Communication Technology under Engineering Institute, Department of Bangladesh Studies under Arts Faculty and Insurance and Rich management under Business Administration Faculty.
