Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd began their Walton Federation Cup campaign with a cruising 3-0 victory over Farashganj at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Dhanmondi based Sheikh Jamal Club scored in the either half of the match and saw their forwards spoiled number of opportunities.
Hapless Farashganj Club remained at the receiving end throughout the match.
Sheikh Jamal the former Bangladesh Premier League champions looked disciplined under the guidance of Joseph Afusi, the Nigerian coach stamped their authority with a better grand of football.
Farashganj, formed with relatively inexperienced booters opted more on a defensive posture.
After some interchange of counter attacks it was Sheikh Jamal who took the lead in the 10th minute off a penalty. Guinean forward Mamadou Bah stormed past his marker at the left edge of the box and sensing danger Farashganj defender Malik Mandy brought him down prompting the referee award a penalty, Mamadou Bah stepped up to convert from the spot (1-0)
Forward Nurul Absar doubled the lead in the 57th minute completing the job with his second effort (2-0).
In the last minute of the match Sohel Mia looped the ball in from about 20 yards to complete the rout (3-0).
