



State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Alhaj Moshiur Rahman Ranga has stressed for ensuring international standard quality of export goods to face the challenges of globalisation.
He said this while launching the month-long ‘Rangpur Industry and Trade Fair (RITF)- 2014’, being organised by Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) at Police Lines Ground in the city, on Thursday evening as the chief guest.
The fair is being organised with a view to promote industrialisation and enhance production of quality goods by local entrepreneurs, flourishing industries, exhibition and introduction of the produced goods for expanding business, trade and commerce.
Mrs. Rakiba Nasrine, wife of the State Minster, attended the ceremony as the special guest with President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu in the chair.
Senior Vice-president of RCCI and Convener of its Industry and Entrepreneurs Development Sub-committee Moztoba Hossain Ripan delivered the welcome speech.
Director of RCCI Ramkrishna Somani also addressed the ceremony moderated by Director of RCCI Shah Mohammad Selim.
Executive committee members of RCCI, its, Directors, officials, former executive committee members, Directors, leaders of Rangpur Women Chamber, businessmen, bank and insurance officials, civil society members, journalists and elite were present.
The chief guest said there is no alternative to produce increasing quantity of export goods ensuring international standard quality to create demand and acceptance of those in the competitive global markets to take the nation forward.
He said the fair would play vital role in creating employment opportunity for the people through flourishing industrialisation and economy of the backward Rangpur region.
He assured the people of Rangpur region that he would do his best so that natural gas was supplied through pipe lines to the economically backward Rangpur region for its quicker industrialisation and uplift.
Ranga called upon the industrialists, entrepreneurs, businesspersons and all concerned of Rangpur region for flourishing industrialisation, trade and business to create more employments for the people to improve their socioeconomic condition.
Later, the State Minster visited a number stalls, out of 100 stalls, set up set up by the private sector entrepreneurs, industries, bodies and organisations from all over the country in the fair.
