Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan will meet U.S. President Donald Trump in May ahead of a meeting of the NATO alliance, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday.
On Monday, sources in Erdogan’s presidential palace said Trump had called Erdogan to congratulate him on winning a referendum to expand his authority.
Bus crash kills 44 in northern India

Forty-four people were killed after a bus swerved off a mountain road and plunged into a deep gorge in northern India’s Himachal Pradesh state Wednesday, a senior government official said.
Only two people, including the ticket checker, survived the crash, according to Rohan Chand Thakur, the district magistrate of Shimla district.
Former US President George Bush hospitalised

Former US President George H.W. Bush has been admitted to a hospital in Houston for a mild case of pneumonia but “is going to be fine,” his spokesman said on Tuesday.
Jim McGrath, official media representative for the 92-year-old former president, said Bush was hospitalised on Friday “for observation due to a persistent cough that prevented him from getting proper rest.”
UN discovers 17 new mass graves in Congo

U.N. investigators have discovered 17 new mass grave sites in central Democratic Republic of Congo, bringing the total to 40 documented in an area where the army has clashed with a local militia, the United Nations said on Wednesday.
A U.N. statement said the grave sites were reportedly dug by Congolese soldiers after fighting with the Kamuina Nsapu militia in Kasai Central province last month.
Turkey police copter crash kills 12

A Turkish police helicopter crashed on Tuesday in a mountainous region in the east of the country, killing 12 people on board including police officers and a judge, the interior minister said.
