Bangladesh Veteran Hockey Players’ Association will face Bengal Tigers of UK in a friendly hockey match at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium today. The match starts at 2.30 pm.
Marking the upcoming match, a press conference was held at the conference room of Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.
Acting President of Bangladesh Veteran Hockey Players’ Association Major (Retd) Imroz Ahmed disclosed all the details of their new organization for hockey players and the upcoming match. Acting General Secretary of the Association Faisal Ahsanullah, former national hockey players Rafiqul Islam Kamal, Shahidul Azam Dolon and the other veteran hockey players were present at the conference.
Imroz Ahmed said, ” We shall try to play friendly matches every Friday. We are working together to take our organization in a good shape. The former national hockey players and second graded hockey players can be member of this organization.”
He said, ” We played two friendly matches against the Bangladesh Hockey Umpires Association. We drew with them in a match and lost to them in a match.”
