KGDCL task force snaps 159 gas connections

The vigilance team of Karnaphuli Gas Transmision & Distribution Co Ltd has conducted a drive against illegal use of pipeline gas at Muradpur, Miakhannagar, Korbanigonj area in the city from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday .
Sources said vigilance team at first snapped the connections in the residence of Dr.Md. Nazimuddin where illegally connected gas in 10 units of the residential accommodations beyond legal permissions and using two 5.5 kitowatt capacity generators .
Besides, 159 residential connections were snapped in these areas during the campaign for violating the terms and conditions of gas consumption , bypassing gas line and outstanding gas bills.
Case against the defaulter of gas consumption will be filed under Gas Act of 2010, sources added. Manager of vigilance Department of KGDCL were present during the raid, sources said.
