Abahani maintain top slot

Zibon scored a brace as Dhaka Abahani Limited maintained their top slot in the points table of the JB Bangladesh Premier League football beating holders Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 3-2 goals held on Thursday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In the day’s match, Zibon scored both the goals in the 90+1at and 90+3rd minutes while Jewel netted the another goal in the 43rd minute of the sky blue Dhanmondi ‘outfit ‘.
Foreign recruits Landing and Darlington netted the lone goal for the defending champions in the 48th and 81st minute respectively.
This win saw Abahani Limited 46 points from 20 matches while Sheikh Jamal remained at their previous credit of 30 points playing the same number of outings.

The government has appointed Abdullah Al Zahir Swapan as President of Bangladesh Rugby Federation (BRF) said a BRF press release.
Swapan, who is closely linked to country’s sports for long, is a sports director of Sheikh Jamal sponsor and director of EXIM Bank.
