Bangladesh Premier League T20 Cricket: Sensational win for Barisal Bulls

Barisal Bulls composed a sensational four-run win over Rajshahi Kings in their match of the AKS Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Sent into bat first, Barisal Bulls piled up a mammoth total of 192 for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then restricted Rajshahi Kings to 188 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
Barisal Bulls faced an early batting debacle as they lost their two openers for 21 runs.
Dilshan Munaweera (0) was caught at the mid-off by Umar Ahmal off Farhad Reza when Barisal’s score was zero.
Dawid Malan (13), the other opener was caught behind by wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan off Farhad Reza.
Then Shahriar Nafees and Mushfiqur Rahim salvaged their team contributing together 112 runs for the third wicket partnership before Shahriar Nafees was caught behind by Nurul Hasan off Darren Sammy when Barisal’s total was 133 for the loss of three wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten with 81. His 52-ball windy innings was decorated with four sixes and five fours.
Shahriar Nafees hit a splendid 63. His 44-ball knock was laced with four sixes and four fours.
After dismissal of Nafees, Mushfiqur Rahim and Thisara Perera added together 59 runs for the fourth wicket stand before Perera was run out by Sabbir Rahman when Barisal’s innings came to an end.
Perera made 24 from 11 balls featuring three sixes.
Fargad Reza of Rajshahi Kings begged a couple of wickets at the cost of 22 runs, while Darren Sammy took one wicket conceding 36 runs.
Rajshahi Kings lost their opener Raqibul Hasan for naught. Raqibul Hasan was caught at the cover by Shahriar Nafees off Monir Hossain when Rajshahi’s score was just one.
Then Mominul Haque and Sabbir Rahman put on together 48 runs for the second wicket partnership before Momiul Haque (12) was caught at the mid-on by Thisara Perera off Al-Amin Hossain when Rajshahi’s total was 49 for the loss of two wickets.
Sabbir Rahman hammered a terrific 122. His 61-ball unprecedented innings was studded with nine sixes and nine fours. It was the first century in the 4th edition of Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 Cricket. It is the highest individual score in Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 Cricket.
After removal of Mominul, Umar Akmal (0) was trapped leg before wicket by the next delivery of Al-Amin Hossain.
Then Sabbir Rahman and Samit Patel contributed 68 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Patel (15) was caught behind by Mushfiqur Rahim off Abu Hider when Rajshahi’s score was 117 for the loss of four wickets.
After dismissal of Patel, Sabbir Rahman and Darren Sammy put on together 42 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Sabbir Rahman was caught at the mid-wicket by Dawid Malan off Al-Amin Hossain when Rajshahi’s total was 159 for the loss of five wickets.
Darren Sammy made 27 from 19 balls including three fours. He was bowled out by Rayad Emrit when Rajshahi’s score was 183 for the loss of six wickets just seven balls in their hand.
After dismissal of Sammy, the tail-enders failed to chase the Barisal’s total. Thus they tasted defeat.
Al-Amin Hossain grabbed three wickets at the cost of 35 runs, while Abu Hider, Monir Hossain, Rayad Emrit took one wicket each for 29, 30 and 34 runs respectively.
Sabbir Rahman was adjudged the Man of the Match.
