6th T20 Corporate Cricket to begin Friday
The Al Haramain 6th T20 Corporate Cricket tournament will begin on Friday (November 18) at Dhaka Residential Model School Ground with the participation of 24 renowned corporate houses of the country.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak is expected to inaugurate the tournament as the chief guest.
Sponsored by Al Haramain Perfumes and organised by Udyachal Club, ASEMS will arrange the whole event by providing all the necessary logistics support. All the 24 teams, split into six group, will compete in the meet. The final match will be held on December 24.
Mercel is the cosponsor of the tournament and Green Delta Insurance is the Insurance partner while Gazi TV, Bangla Tribune, The Daily Jugantor, Dhaka FM 90.4, and Rising BD are the media partners of the meet.
Besides, Nescafe is the beverage partner of the tournament.
The total budget of the tournament has been estimated at around Taka 32 lakh.
The champions and runners-up teams will get Taka 1,00,000 and Taka 50,000 respectively as prize money while man of the match of each game will also be awarded with crest and gifts curtsey sponsored by Al Haramain Perfumes.
Private satellite channel Gazi TV will stream live telecast of the two semifinals and the final match of the tournament.
In this regard, a press conference was held on Saturday at Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) conference room to give all the details of the meet.
Quazi Mohammed Mahmudur Rahman, chief coordinator of the tournament and CEO of ASEMS Limited, Syed Sabbir Ahmed, executive director, Al Haramain Perfumes Bangladesh, SM Zahid Hasan, executive director, Mercel, Walton Group, Wafi FM Khan, deputy managing director, Green Delta Insurance Company Limited and Rokonuzzaman, president of Udayachal Club, were among others, present on the occasion.
The participating teams are Grameenphone, IFIC Bank, Edison Group, IDLC, Nitol Motors, Bikroy Dot Com, Mercantile Bank Limited, Energypac Power, Beximco Pharma, Beximco Textile, Square Group, First Security Islami Bank, Bay Developments, Reliance Insurance, Green Delta Insurance, Alif Group, LM Ericson Bangladesh, NRB Commercial Bank, CNRS Bangladesh , Walton, Eastern University (Teachers and officials), ICDDRB, Confidence Group and Energypac Engineering.
