To solve different public problems according to the government instructions and to ensure the government facilities to people, the Rangamati District Administration started weekly public hearing programme at district level. In this connection, a function was held at the conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) on Wednesday.
DC of Rangamati Mohammad Manzarul Mannan conducted the programme. Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Prakash Kanti Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Abu Shahed Chowdhury, Additional District Magistrate Md. Moazzem Hossain, Senior Assistant Police Super Chitto Ranjan Pal and other officials from different government offices also attended the programme.
On the first day, a total of 18 people took part in the public hearing. Most of them spoke about their respective land related problems. Meanwhile, after hearing some problems, the DC Mohammad Manzarul Mannan ordered related officials to solve those soon.
The DC said, “As government officials, our duty is to provide services to the people.”
He further said, “This public hearing programme will be continued on every Wednesday at the DC office. Besides, it would be held at upazila level also.”
The programme was addressed, among others, by President of Rangamati Press Club Shakwat Hossain Rubel, Secretary Anowar Al Hoque, senior journalist Sunil Kanti Dey, renowned educationist Dr. Alo Rani Aich, former Chairman of Rangamati Municipality Kazi Nazrul Islam, and former Member of Rangamati Hill District Council Moniruzamam Moshin Rana.
