The Guardians Forum of BAF Shaheen college in Chitagong protested the realization of excess tution fees from the students protested in the press meet held at Chittagong Press Club hall on Saturday.
The press meet demanded suspension of realization of excess fees and fix the tution fees as per govt directives otherwise warned for tougher movement . Convener of Guardian Forum Shakawat Kamal read out the written statement before the newsmen.
The press meet was told that the college authority suddenly increased the tuition fees from middle of the year by two times of the existing fees.
The press meet was apprised that the tuition fees for Bangla medium students increased by Tk.1600 from existing 980/ taka whereas the session fees increased by Tk.5000 from existing Tk.2200 . Similarly in English medium course, the fees increased more than the Bangla medium which is unjustified and ridiculous, the statement opined.
The Guardian Forum leaders urged the Prime Minister, Education Minister, chief of Air Force, Deputy commissioner of Ctg, college managing committee to remove the newly imposed tution and session fees of the students.
Among others, SM Babul Hasnat, Kajal Kanti Lodh, Humayun Kabir, Shafiul Alam, Majidul Alam, Sekander Azam, Md. Selim were present on behalf of the guardian forum.
