BCL factional clash injures 10

A Correspondent :
Two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League clashed in Banshkhali upazila of Chittagong on Thursday, injuring about 10 leaders and activists from both the groups.
Of the injured, Emranul Haque, 28, president of the upazila unit of BCL; and Md Fahim, its organising secretary, were admitted to Banshkhali Upazila Health Complex.
Followers of the two leaders of the pro-Awami League student organisation attacked each other when Emran along with his supporters reached the main entrance of Alaol Degree College where local AL lawmaker Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury was accorded a reception, said locals.
Later, police brought the situation under control, they said. The law enforcers could not ascertain the reason behind the clash. “I have heard about the clash,” said Banshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Alamgir, adding, “We are investigating into the incident.”
Lawmaker Mustafizur claimed that personal conflict between the two led to the clash. Dr Sharmin Akter of the health complex said both of them sustained head injuries and were referred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
