DPL: Bowlers set Abahani’s win over Victoria

Abahani’s bowlers dominated in the super-six 3rd round match of the List-A Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League in their six-wicket victory against Victoria Sporting Club at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
With the win, Tamim Iqbal-led Abahani collected 18 points from 13 matches with nine wins and four losses and are in the 2nd slot of the points table.
Saqlain Sajib, Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed bagged three wickets each for Abahani to restrict Victoria SC, which were sent to bat first, to 139 for all in 36.2 overs.
Mominul Haque and Suhrawadi Shuvo could reach the 20-run mark for Victoria scoring 23 and 21 runs.
In reply, Abahani reached their destination scoring 140 for 4 in 29.2 overs.
Skipper cum opener Tamim scored 33 and Dinesh Karthik added unbeaten 32.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto (22), Mosaddek Hossain (not out 18) and Liton Das (18) were other double figure scorers for Abahani. Chaturanga de Silva and Enamul Haque bagged two wickets each for Victoria SC. Man of the match: Shakib Al Hasan (Abahani).
