Journo’s father passes away

Noted social personality and enthusiast for learning Somesh Chandra Barua, father of Samir Kanti Barua, special correspondent and Bureau chief of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chittagong expired due to old age complications on Tuesday midnight at a city private clinic.
He was 92.
He left behind three sons and three daughters and a number of relatives to mourn his death. The demise is also the father of the vice chancellor of USTC,chittagong Dr.Prabat Barua.
President of Ctg Press club Kalim Sarwar, general secretary Mohsin chowdhury, President of CUJ Reaz Haider chowdhury, general secretary Mohammad Ali, Vice President of BFUJ Shahidul Alam, joint secretary Tapan chakraborty in a press statement expressed deep shock at the death of noted social personality and enthusiasts for learning Somesh Chandra Barua.
They expressed solidarity of the departed soul and sympathy to the members of the bereaved family. His last cremation ceremony will be held at native village home at Jaldi in Banskhali upazila, Chittagong today evening .
The body of the demise was kept at Katalgonj Bhuddisht temple at 10 am and Nandankanan Buddha Mondir premises in the afternoon yesterday to pay homage by placing wreaths at his coffin , sources said.
