Bangladesh University emerges champion in Inter University Cricket Championship

Bangladesh University (BU) registered an exciting 13 runs victory over North South in the final of Inter University final held on Sunday at the WAPDA Banani ground.
This tournament is also known as ‘Last Man Stands ‘ and most of the private Universities take in this meet held being since 2005.
Asked to bat first, Bangladesh University was bowled out for a challenging 180 runs. Skipper Saimon top scored with a superb 51 runs off 97.In reply some tight bowling saw North South University were bowled 13 short of the target. Their skipper Fayyaz made valiant effort to remain not out with a cameo 50 off 35 deliveries as wicket fell like nine pins at the other end.
However Saimon won the man of the award for his batting display. Samiul islam of BU was declared player of the tournament by scoring 150 runs and taking 12 wickets. AIUB’s Naved was adjudged as best bowler of the meet.
The winners bagged a cheque of 70, 000 and a glittering trophy.
