Kohli blast lifts India to 192/2 vs West Indies

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 89 runs enabled India to post a formidable 192 for 2 against West Indies in the 2nd semifinal of the ICC World Twenty20 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday.
Sent in to bat first, India collected the score in 20 overs that witnessed 17 boundaries and four sixes.
Kohli hit unbeaten 89 off 47 balls featuring 11 boundaries and one six. He also fired unbeaten 82 against Australia in the must-win Group-2 last encounter of the Super-10 stage.
India started with a good note with their opening pair between Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane contributing 62 runs in 7.2 overs.
The opening pair departed with Rohit Sharma’s dismissal being lbw off Samuel Badree bowling, hammering 43 off 31 balls that included three boundaries and three sixes.
After Sharma, Kohli came in and stayed with Rahane in the 2nd wicket for another partnership of 66 runs in 8.1 overs.
The 2nd pair carried the team total to a decent 128/2 in 15.3 overs, before Rahane was caught by Dwayne Bravo off Andre Russell bowling.
Rahane stayed for 40 off 35 balls, including two boundaries.
Kohli and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (not out 15) did the rest job with unbeaten stand of 64 runs in 4.3 overs in the end.
Samuel Badree and Andrte Russell took one wicket each for 26 and 47 runs.
