Int’l confce on material design at DU

A daylong 2nd International Conference on ‘Material Design’ was held recently at the RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU). The Department of English of DU and the Institute of Education of Manchester University, UK jointly organized the conference in cooperation with the British Council. It was part of the academic activities of a project titled ‘International Strategic Partnership in Education and Research (INSPIRE)’ conducted by Department of English Writing Service (DEWS) of DU and funded by the British Council.
Team leader of DEWS Prof. Tahmina Ahmed presided over the inaugural session while Dean of the Faculty of Arts of DU Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman addressed it as the chief guest. Chairperson of the Department of English of DU Prof Dr Rubina Khan delivered welcome speech. Professor of Manchester University, UK Diane Slaouti also addressed it.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts of DU Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the DU authorities for undertaking such an important project on English Language to enhance writing skills of the students.
He hoped that the students would be highly benefited from this project.
