“Let’s Help Girls Achieve their Ambitions” with this slogan, as a token of gratitude to all the women all over the world, Daffodil International University (DIU) has celebrated the Women’s Day 2016. To salute the womanhood, Department of Law organized a special program at the Banquet Hall of the DIU, on Tuesday to mark International Women’s Day. The seminar was designed to motivate the female students and recognize the female cricket team of the Department of Law, Daffodil International University.
The Emeritus Prof Dr Aminul Islam was the chief guest in the program while Advocate Sanaiyya Ansari, Human Rights Activist, Gender Specialist and Regional Council Member of the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development was the Guest of Honor. Prof AMM Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Umme Kulsum, Head, Department of English and Parveen, a successful mother were the special guests of the program. The program was chaired by Farhana Helal Mehtab, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Law.
Advocate Sanaiyya Ansari, shared all her experiences, struggles and achievements. She showed the way of success to the female students to achieve their ambition. The occasion was celebrated with a delicious cake. The program came to its end with a formal photo session. Almost 250 students were present in this program.
ASA University Bangladesh
ASA, ASA Interantional and ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) jointly organized a colorful procession for the celebration of International Women’s Day 2016 on Tuesday in the capital. The procession started at 9:30 AM from ASA Tower premises, Shyamoli and ended at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Bhaban (Manik Mia Avenue) at 10:30 AM.
Md. Shafiqual Haque Choudhury, President, ASA and Chairman, Board of Trustees, ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) inaugurated the procession by releasing pigeons and ballons in the premises of ASA Tower.
Prof Dr Dalem Ch. Barman, Honorable Vice Chancellor of ASAUB, Prof Md. Muinuddin Khan, Adviser, ASAUB, Deans and Chairmen from Different Faculties and Departments, Md. Khalequzzaman, Registrar of ASAUB, Teachers, Officials and Students of ASAUB were also present in the program. Rabeya Akhter Choudhury, member of ASA Governing Body wrapped up the procession with a brief speech highlighting the importance of the day.
