U-19 Cricket without crowds
The U-19 Cricket World Cup has reached its closing stage. The semi finalists are ¾ India, Sri Lanka, West Indies and host Bangladesh.
But where are crowds? Why have the cricket loving people turned their faces? Will the BCB give an explanation and make arrangement for the return of the audiences in the stadiums? We cannot say, said a senior citizen of the country.
Another man said, man cannot be happy with the sports only. He wants access to all other human faculties also. As for example, the Brazilians were once soccer mad nation. The footballers feared to return home in case of catastrophic result. Those days are gone and reality replaces emotion.
The Brazilians are now practical. Economic development is more susceptible. They demonstrate against the government when country’s economies descend. Had they been emotional, it was impossible for the FIFA to continue the World Cup Football 2014 after 1-7 goals drubbing by Germany at home.
May be that the cricket fans are getting ready to enjoy more prestigious Asian Cup Cricket 2016.
