BNP demands re-election at 13 out of 16 mayor posts in Barisal divn

Begum Selima Rahman, Vice Chairman and Convener of Divisional Municipal Election Monitoring Cell holding a press conference on Wednesday afternoon at the party office in Barisal demanded re-election at least in 13 out of 16 municipalities of Barisal Divisionsw.
Earlier, brother of AL lawmaker made uncontested AL nominated mayor candidate of Pirojpur Sadar municipality. Then AL planned to grab mayors of the rest 16 out of 17 municipalities in the division by holding a polluted, rigged, farcical election, Begum Selima added.
She said random rigging, ousting BNP polling agents controlling vote centers by AL cadres in collaboration of biased backbone less election officials, indifferent attitudes of administrative and law enforcing officials about allegations of attacks on BNP polling agents and police drive against BNP activists, created panic loosing proper environments needed for a free fair election on a level playing field.
