IIUC team attends conference in Thailand

A 12-member team of IIUC attended the ‘Islamic Economic System Conference’ held recently at Krabi Front Bay View Resort in Thailand. It was jointly organized by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Malaysia; International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh; Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Islamic Development Bank, KSA; and Patoni University, Thailand. Objectives of the Conference were: (i) To know current research in various areas of the Islamic social economy such as Zakat, waqf, not-for-profit and mutual sectors; (ii) To focus on Islamic Economic issues at micro and macro levels; and (iii) To provide a platform to researchers for networking and collaboration. Prof. Dr. AKM Azharul Islam, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of IIUC was a Keynote Speaker in the Conference. Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Director, Center for Research and Publication, IIUC was the Coordinator of the Conference for Bangladesh Part.
