Indian delegation meets DU VC

A ten-member students’ team from India, Bhutan and Armenia led by Pradip Chopra, Chairman of the Institute of Leadership Entrepreneurship and Development (ILEAD), West Bengal, India called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Sunday at DU VC Office.
The team members were Almas Khan, Saksi Ahmed, Md. Sohail Anwar, Abhimanyu Jalan, Umar Reyaz, Siddharth Gupta, Soumyo Das and Suresh Chandra (India), Madhukar Darnal (Bhutan) and Andranik Matevosyan (Armenia).
During the meeting they discussed various issues including strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programs between the DU and ILEAD.
VC Arefin Siddique apprised the team members of brief history of Dhaka University as well as various democratic movements in Bangladesh including our Liberation War and Language Movements.
Dhaka University played a pioneering role in all those movements and linked itself directly with our national identity, he mentioned.
The VC also recalled with gratitude of all-out supports and cooperation of Indian government, people and media during our Liberation War in 1971.
