National Social Services Day -’25 was observed in Kishoreganj on Thursday at the initiative of Department of Social Welfare many programmes.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Those who have no one by their side have social service.
The Department of Social Services (DSS) including District Administration arranged various programmes marking the day.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj, Fouzia Khan attanded as chief guest while Deputy Director (DD) Md.Kamruzzaman khan in the chair. A discussion meeting held at local Social Services Complex Auditorium on Thursday.
Speakers at a discussion here m Thursday unanimously viewed that infusing dynamism into the social services can be the best way of welfare of the people with special needs and other underprivileged sections of the society.
Emphasis should be given on ensuring transparency and accountability in all the welfare-oriented social service activities so that the target group of people could derive total benefits of the welfare programmes.

Earlier, a cross-section of people along with the DSS officials and staff brought out a walkathon in the town.
